Dr Nan Yu

Lecturer, Digital Manufacture at the University of Edinburgh

Dr Nan Yu is a Lecturer in Digital Manufacture at the University of Edinburgh (UoE). His research focuses on the precision manufacturing, including advanced plasma processing, digital twin, atomic and close-to-atomic scale manufacturing (ACSM). In 2018, Nan received the prestigious Marie Curie International Fellowship and Irish Research Council Fellowship.

He is currently a member of International Scientific Committee of EUSPEN (European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology), Research Affiliate of CIRP (International Academy for Production Engineering), member of EPSRC Early Career Forum in Manufacturing Research. He holds two visiting appointments: visiting assistant professor at University College Dublin (UCD, 2021-2026) and cooperative associate scientist at the European Organisation of Nuclear Research (CERN, 2020-2022).
