24th EPSRC Early Career Forum (ECF) in Manufacturing Research meeting took place online on the 24th and 25th of June. 24th June focused on the Theme of Well-Being and Remote Working; 25th June session focused on Research Activities & Grants.
The team of EPSRC Manufacturing the Future joined the first day virtual meeting to meet ECF cohort. Stephanie Williams from EPSRC chaired the session; EPSRC team including Lydia Gardner, Katie Walker, Nick Cooper, Stephen Gilligan and Tochukwu Ajare introduced their roles, current Manufacturing the Future theme activities, and future funding opportunities. How to manage the well-being and efficient remote working were discussed on 24th June.
On the second day, the invited speakers – Prof Nilay Shah from Imperial College London and Prof Rob Eason from Southampton University shared insights and advice with ECF cohort on grand challenge, academic career and time management and proposal development. Our ECF member Dr Matt Unthank shared his research work with the cohort.
